Deion Sanders is apparently having second thoughts about his coaching career.
Sanders has repeatedly insisted that he does not desire to coach in the NFL despite the links to big jobs, particularly with his former team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Coach Prime would have no trouble landing a job in the pros after showing what he can do as a college coach. However, he has been clear about how he feels about coaching NFL players, claiming he would have a hard time dealing with athletes who get paid while being hesitant to do what they collect checks to do.
“I don’t have any desire or ambition to coach in the NFL,” the former cornerback told SI.com in 2023. “I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs. I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes.”
Well, it appears the Buffs head coach has changed his mind.
Sanders was shown saying he was “99 percent sure” he would never coach his sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, again after their Alamo Bowl game against BYU by ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ this week.
Prime later appeared on the show, where he revealed that he would only consider the step up to the pros if there was an opportunity to coach both of his boys.

“You know what? The only way I would consider it is to coach my sons,” he said.
Deion Sanders Wants To Remain In Colorado
Shedeur and Shilo playing on the same team in the NFL is a possibility, though it’s unlikely.
The former is thought to be a top-five prospect heading into the 2025 NFL Draft, while his brother would probably go as a late-round selection.
Despite the temptation, Coach Prime seems like he would be happy to remain in Colorado.
“I love Colorado. I love everything we’re building I love what we’re doing, and I love Boulder, Colorado,” he said.
The team has landed some commitments that could ensure it remains relevant after the departures of the Sanders boys and Travis Hunter, who is also headed to the draft.
