The University of Colorado continues to experience incredible financial gains as a result of their hiring Deion Sanders as their football coach.
Following a 1-11 finish last season, Coach Prime has the Buffaloes at 3-2 ahead of Saturday’s clash against the Arizona State Sun Devils. However, the success hasn’t only come on the field as the uni has been raking in some significant bank strictly due to his being there.
According to a report from Front Office Sports, merchandise sales from Colorado’s online store have increased by a whopping 1,220 percent from a year ago to September while year-to-date sales – January to September – are up 51 percent.
The university has also earned over $45 million due to media and viewership while it’s also attracted a 42 percent year-over-year increase in sponsorship money.
Meanwhile, TIME is reporting having been told by chancellor Philip DiStefano that out-of-state applications are up 40 percent.
It appears just about everyone wants to be associated with Colorado nowadays. The likes of LeBron James, Lil Wayne, The Rock, and Jay-Z have made appearances at home games this season, with Wayne also leading the team out and performing ahead of their second home game against Colorado State last month.
