Deion Sanders is still months away from actually coaching his first game as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, but he has already made history.
His impact on the Colorado Buffaloes football program continues to pay dividends for the university. This week, it was announced by the school it has sold out of season tickets for the 2023 college football season, ending a streak of 27 years without selling out.
The last time the Buffaloes sold out of season tickets was in 1996, and Monday’s announcement was the ninth time Colorado has accomplished the feat.
In March, the school also announced it had sold out its annual intrasquad spring scrimmage as well. More than 45,000 are expected, smashing the school’s previous record spring game crowd of 17,800 in 2008.
This is a team that finished 1-11 last year.

The last winning season for the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) Buffaloes football team was in 2016. That year, the team finished with a 10-4 overall record and won the Pac-12 South Division title, earning a berth in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
The 2016 season was a successful one for the Buffaloes, as they were ranked as high as No. 9.
Since then, the CU Buffaloes have not had a winning season.
