The University of Colorado Buffaloes are 4-6 heading into their final two games of the season.
Deion Sanders might not salvage his first season at CU with a bowl bid but could things be made even worse with incoming recruits possibly changing their mind amid a bad year?
The Colorado Buffaloes head coach made it clear this week that recruits have not been deterred by Colorado losing so much and many of them are seeing the losing as a chance to be the piece that turns it around next year.
“They’re not thinking about what transpired. They’re thinking about them being the missing piece of the puzzle to help this transpire,” Sanders said on Wednesday during his coaches show.
“That’s where they are. The No. 1 thing is that I don’t talk about any other coaches or teams or staff, I don’t believe in that. I’m not going to put you down so I can stand up. I’ve never been that type of player or person in my life.”
Colorado has only one win in its last seven games after starting the year off 3-0. Since their win over Colorado State, the Buffs have been a bad football team on both sides of the ball. They also are the most penalized team in the country with 95, including 11 in last week’s 34-31 loss to Arizona.
Bad on offense, bad on defense, and lack of discipline are a recipe for disaster.
However, there’s intrigue with the turnaround in Boulder as the program only won one game just last year so this is an improvement no matter how you look at it.
