Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has been linked with an NFL job following a major development this week.
There are still several months to go before the end of the current season, yet Coach Prime has already been named among coaches who could be appointed by the Las Vegas Raiders in the next offseason.
The Raiders fired HC Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziggler this Wednesday, making the decision after their loss to the Detroit Lions on MNF.
Sanders has flat-out stated that he will never coach in the NFL, yet it hasn’t stopped folks from speculating now that there is an opening.
ESPN’s Matt Miller has suggested that the Hall of Famer could head back to the NFL as the Raiders’ coach next season and draft his son, Shedeur Sanders, as his quarterback, which is a possibility given where the team is likely to finish.
“Just because I root for chaos: Raiders hire Deion Sanders. Shedeur enters the draft and refuses to play for anyone but his dad, and becomes the team’s franchise QB,” Miller posted to X. “How fun would that be?”

Of course, this is unlikely to happen as Prime has insisted that he does not ever want to be an NFL coach.
“I don’t have any desire or ambition to coach in the NFL,” he said back in June. “I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs. I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes.”
He reiterated as much in September during an episode of ‘First Take’.
But who knows? He just might be tempted by the prospect of drafting his son.
