Deion Sanders’ assistant coaches at Colorado are poised to set a new record next season they will be paid the highest combined salaries in the program’s history.
According to BuffZone, Coach Prime’s 10 full-time assistants will be earning a combined $4.65 million in base and supplemental salary following the $4.59 million the assistants were paid in 2023.
The team’s new defensive coordinator, Robert Livingston, will set a school record for the highest single-season salary for an assistant coach in 2025 as he will rake in $995,000, marking a rise of $195,000 from next season, when he’s set to earn $800,000. New offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur will earn $800,000 in 2024 and $850,000 in 2025.
Despite the record numbers, Colorado is saving money. Primetime’s 2023 staff would have cost the school more had they stuck around. The university will also get $475,000 from coaches who left for other jobs.
Sanders, who signed a five-year deal worth $29.5 million with Colorado in 2022, will hope for a much improved second campaign with the Buffaloes after going 4-8 in his first season.
He has recruited several players who should be able to correct the mistakes made in the offensive line for the majority of last term and won’t have many excuses should the Buffs fail to at least secure bowl eligibility in 2024.
