Deion Sanders’ impact on the University of Colorado goes well beyond the football field.
Not only have the Buffaloes (3-2) already tripled their win total from last year’s forgettable campaign, but Sanders’ arrival has already generated the school nearly a quarter of a billion dollars in revenue, according to new estimates.
Brent Schrotenboer of USA Today shared the new estimates on Sanders’ worth for the school at $280 million. Schrotenboer projected $249 million in “earned media impact”, $20 million in ticket sales, an additional $8 million in donations and $3 million in other categories, such as sales from the Buffaloes’ team store.
Sanders’ arrival has made Colorado one of the top must-watch teams in the NCAA. Their perfect 3-0 start is long in the past following consecutive losses to a pair of top 25 teams in Oregon and USC, but there’s still plenty for Colorado to be optimistic about now and over the long run.
