A video of a blunt-and-honest Deion Sanders addressing his Colorado Buffaloes following Friday’s stunning loss to the Stanford Cardinal has been released.
The Buffaloes led 29-0 at halftime against a Stanford team that entered the week with a 1-4 record.
But the visiting Cardinal outscored Colorado 36-7 in the second half to force overtime. They went on to complete the upset with a 31-yard Josh Karty field goal in the second overtime frame, following a costly Shedeur Sanders end zone interception.
Sanders did not hold back in voicing his unhappiness with the Buffaloes “pathetic” loss during the post-game locker room speech which you van view below (transcriptions via David Hookstead of OutKick Sports):
“You’re not going to be taken care of. You’re not going to be looked after. You’re not going to have the luxury of all this, and you’re going to have to go out there and get it on your and work your butt off because ain’t nobody going to give you nothing.
I don’t think you understand of what this world consists of. What we just did today was pathetic. All the love you receive, all the love we receive, you getting ready to see that flip. And don’t get beside yourself on social media and start responding to the foolishness because they’re right. They’re right. And we’re practicing tomorrow. God bless. Have a wonderful night”
Sanders has a reputation for being the ultimate players’ coach, but he’s also honest and to the point when he has to be. As much as he appreciates his players, there’s simply no excusing the coughing up of a 29-0 lead at home.

Since starting out a perfect 3-0 on the year, the Buffaloes have dropped three of their last four games. Things don’t get much easier with the No. 25 ranked UCLA Bruins next on the schedule, followed by a home tilt against No. 12 ranked Oregon State.
At any rate, Sanders knows the importance of quickly turning the page as good as anybody. His Buffaloes have no time to lose as they try to improve to 2-2 against ranked teams.
