Colorado Buffaloes’ head coach Deion Sanders had a stern message for the doubters after leading his team to a monumental 45-42 upset win over the TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday.
Sanders’ team entered the game as a massive 21-point underdog against the club that reached last year’s national championship game. But a historic performance by Prime Time’s son, Shedeur, led the Buffaloes to one of the biggest wins in school history.
In his post-game interview, Prime Time had a message for those who doubted the Buffaloes.
“We told you we coming,” Sanders said. “We told you we coming. You thought we was joking. And guess what? We keep receipts?”
Shedeur had a near-perfect outing for the Buffaloes, completing 38 of 47 pass attempts for 510 yards (a school record) and four touchdowns without any interceptions. Dylan Edwards, Travis Hunter, Xavier Weaver and Jimmy Horn all posted over 100 receiving yards.
Sanders was head coach of the Jackson Stage Tigers from 2020 to 2022 before accepting a lucrative offer from the Buffaloes. The two-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Football Hall of Famer coached the Tigers to back-to-back SWAC Championships in 2021 and 2022.
