The Deion Sanders era in Colorado couldn’t have started off any better, with the unranked Buffaloes stunning the TCU Horned Frogs at Amon G. Carter Stadium on Saturday.
Behind a historic performance by Deion’s son, Shedeur Sanders, Colorado stunned last year’s runner-up 45-42. Shedeur threw for a school record 510 yards and four touchdowns, with four of his teammates exceeding 100 yards receiving.
Social media had a lot to say over Sanders’ memorable and historic debut in Colorado:

It’s just the first game, but it’s also clearly the start of something special for Sanders and this football team.
After a three-year tenure as the head coach of Jackson State, Sanders signed a long-term deal with the Buffaloes to take over the program in 2023. Colorado certainly wasn’t expected to be anything close to a top-25 team entering this season, but they’ll be the talk of town for at least a week following Saturday’s historic upset.
Colorado will try to continue the momentum when they welcome the Matt Rhule-coached Nebraska Cornhuskers next Saturday. Another game to circle on your calendar? The Buffaloes’ home game against No. 6-ranked USC on Sept. 30.
