Colorado Buffaloes’ head coach Deion Sanders had a heartwarming and emotional post-game interview after leading his team to a stunning upset over TCU on Saturday.
“Prime Time” and the Buffaloes were major underdogs heading into the road contest against last year’s runner-ups. But thanks to a historic performance by Deion’s son, Shedeur Sanders, and the versatile Travis Sanders, Colorado stunned the nation with a 45-42 victory.
Sanders was emotional and absolutely fired up in his post-game interview.
“I’m so thankful right now, for my son man…man I’m loving these kids,” the Pro Football Hall of Famer said. “This is a blessing. Everybody, Buff nation for supporting us…I thank y’all…WOO!”
After a successful three-year run at Jackson State, Sanders signed a lucrative long-term deal to take over the Buffaloes’ football program. Expectations weren’t exactly high for Colorado coming into the season, but now they’re the talk of the country after one of the biggest wins in the school’s history.
Shedeur had a phenomenal debut himself, completing 38 of 47 pass attempts for 510 yards (a school record) and four touchdowns without a single interceptions. Hunter, Dylan Edwards, Xavier Weaver and Jimmy Horn all had over 100 yards receiving, with Hunter also recording an interception on defense.
