New Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is thought to be poised to add another top recruit to his secondary following his departure from Jackson State.
Sanders is on the verge of landing running back Dylan Edwards and is now believed to have made some headway into snagging cornerback Cormani McCain. The five-star player is still committed to Miami but is yet to sign on with the Hurricanes.
McCain is the highest-rated player in his position in the country from the 2023 class and the second-highest overall. He would be quite the steal for Coach Prime and the Buffaloes.
Deion Sanders Has Made Contact With The player
According to Steve Wiltfong of 247Sports, McCain and Sanders have been in contact this week.
“Colorado in touch with Cormani McClain already this morning. So the Buffaloes trying to make a move on the No. 1 cornerback in the country. He has talked to Coach Deion Sanders this morning,” Wiltfong said during the 247Sports Signing Day Show.
Sanders has become a top recruiter within a short period and his prowess in such regard brought lots of success to JSU, including his capture of Travis Hunter last year.

Landing McCain would be huge for Colorado, where Sanders aims to be just as successful as he was at Jackson State, and even more so.
Ticket and merchandise sales have already gone up for the Buffaloes since the acquisition of the two-time Super Bowl winner, which speaks to his celebrity and the expectations he has on his shoulders due to the standards he set at JSU.
