Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders didn’t mince words when discussing the offensive line’s struggles in Saturday’s loss to the UCLA Bruins.
Prime Time’s son, Shedeur Sanders, was sacked seven times in the Buffaloes’ 28-16 road loss to UCLA. The Buffaloes are now 4-4 and have lost four of their last five following a surprising and perfect 3-0 start.
Speaking to reporters after the game, Sanders had a stern warning for his offensive lineman.
“The big picture, you go get new linemen,” Sanders said. “That’s the picture, I’ma paint it perfectly.”
It’s quite rare for a coach to throw a certain player or unit under the bus, let alone threaten to replace an entire group. It’s especially surprising coming from an ultimate player’s coach like the Pro Football Hall of Famer.
Needless to say, Prime Time received criticism for openly calling out the offensive line:

Regardless, few coaches know how to motivate and get the most out of their players like the NFL legend. Sanders is obviously hoping that his criticism will light a spark for an offensive line that has especially struggled to keep Shedeur upright over the last three games.
The Buffaloes got off to a thrilling start with a 45-42 win over the TCU Horned Frogs in their season opener, but they’ve been soundly defeated by their last three games against ranked opponents.
After losing 42-6 to the Oregon Ducks on Sept. 23, the Buffaloes fell 48-41 to Caleb Williams’ USC Trojans on Sept. 30. Having lost to UCLA, the Buffaloes now must prepare for a home game against No. 16 ranked Oregon State on Saturday.
