Deion Sanders has said, unequivocally, that he’s the best college recruiter in America.
The new Colorado head coach joined his friend Shannon Sharpe on the latter’s Club Shay Shay podcast recently and gave a wide-ranging interview in which he discussed his departure from Jackson State, his kids, his amputation, and much more.
At one point, Sharpe asked the former NFL star and two-time Super Bowl winner whether he believes he’s the country’s best recruiter. Sanders made no attempts to be modest with his answer.
“You damn right I am,” he declared.
The 55-year-old then went on to outline his recruitment strategy,
“I’m not selling them. I am who I am,” he explained. “You want exposure, I’ll give you exposure. We know how to use social media like no other, and we didn’t even have the resources at Jackson. Now we do. We have a whole team, a whole plethora of people designed specifically to make you shine.”

Sanders revealed that he doesn’t need to pitch anything to families as parents, specifically mothers, would have done their homework and would already know what he’s about. They’re really just seeking validation, according to Coach Prime.
“We just have to come in and be consistent with what she’s heard and what she knows,” he continued. “I’m not trying to win mama, but I’m gonna be honest with mama.
“We don’t make any promises whatsoever. We wanna know what we can do to make sure that baby you deliver us becomes a man.”

Sanders also swears he’s going to be straight up with a mother if her cooking is lacking.
“I’m gonna say ‘mama you should put a little more seasoning in this thing’,” he insisted to Sharpe. “And pops gonna appreciate it, because pops wanna say it but he can’t.”
It’s hard to argue against Coach Prime’s reasoning, especially when you consider the fact that he engineered what’s arguably the biggest flip in NCAA history when he stole Travis Hunter from Florida for JSU. He’s rumored to have already flipped some top-rated recruits for the Buffaloes.
