Deion Sanders joined his friend and fellow Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe for an interview on Shannon’s Club Shay Shay podcast this week. The interview was wide-ranging, with Deion discussing his move from Jackson State, his recruitment strategy, his kids, and his foot surgery, among other things.
The show started with Sharpe arriving while Sanders was getting his left foot massaged. The host initially thought the new Colorado Buffaloes head coach was getting pampered but was left aghast when he saw the limb, which was exposed on camera for the first time.
Coach Prime lost two toes from said foot this tear due to surgery and has a nasty scar in his shin area. He explained that he needed multiple surgeries and was in danger of losing his entire leg, so he’s grateful to have only lost a pair of toes.
Sanders is going through quite an ordeal as his career continues to progress. He revealed he has to be massaged two or three times every day to help with his pain and lack of circulation, while he’s on blood thinners and used to have to take over 30 pills daily – he’s down to around seven now.
Sharpe would eventually see the funny side, chiding his friend about not being able to wear flip-flops, as well as his shoe size.
Fans found it pretty funny too.

The Best Deion Sanders Could Have Hoped For
All jokes aside, though, it must be very tough having to deal with such a cumbersome situation, but Coach Prime appears to be taking it all in stride.
The 55-year-old revealed doctors told him his foot had been dislocated for 15 years while he’d been none the wiser. Losing two toes is really the best he could have hoped for, considering the circumstances.
