Dabo Swinney was embarrassed in more ways than one while watching his Clemson Tigers get it handed to them by the Duke Blue Devils on Monday.
Swinney’s men were on the wrong end of a 28-7 result, scoring just a single touchdown as quarterback Cade Klubnik threw for 209 yards, one touchdown, and one interception on 27/43 passing.
Klubnik and his coach also shared an awkward moment during the third quarter. With the player coming off the field on a fourth down and the Blue Devils leading 13-7, Swinney extended his hand only for Klubnik to walk right past it.
The head coach was surprised by the move and kept looking at his QB as he walked away.

The snub had no effect on Klubnik’s playing time the rest of the way as he continued as the signal-caller. However, it didn’t make a difference as the Tigers did not score another TD.

Swinney has come under lots of criticism since the loss, yet he should be able to go 2-1 by the time Clemson faces Florida State as they’re playing Charleston Southern and Florida Atlantic before the crucial matchup.
