Cooper Manning cleared up an NIL (name, likeness, image) rumor regarding his son, Teas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning.
There is speculation growing that Arch may look to transfer and join a school that could offer him a more lucrative NIL deal. There are some whispers that Manning could even land an NIL deal worth seven figures.
But while speaking to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, Cooper stated that such rumors about an astronomical NIL deal for Arch are false.
“All this NIL stuff is BS. People just make up numbers,” Cooper told Dellenger. “Don’t believe what you read.”
Quinn Ewers, Texas’ starting QB this year, is expected to return for another year of college ball instead of declaring for the NFL Draft. Longhorns backup QB Maalik Murphy entered the transfer portal and announced his move to Duke.
With Ewers presumably remaining Texas’ starting QB for 2024, some wondered if Arch would look to transfer and seek a starting job elsewhere. However, the third-generation football player has decided to stick with the Longhorns for at least one more season.
