Here we go again.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Conor McGregor, also known as “The Money Fight” and “The Biggest Fight in Combat Sports History”, went down back in August 2017 and both fighters left the bout with an insane amount of money.
It has been thought that McGregor would step in the ring again to face Mayweather to cash in once again, but it’s looking like it might actually be someone else. A bout between McGregor and Pacquiao has been rumored for months, ever since McGregor claimed there were talks between both sides back in January.
When talking about McGregor and Pacquiao during a recent “Big Fight Weekend” podcast episode, ESPN’s Steve Kim dropped some big news when he stated, “You know, I’m gonna be bold. I say that it happens next year in 2021. I’ve actually been told that’s the plan.”
He continued, “Now, look, Manny has a way of changing his mind quite liberally, but there’s a reason why he signed with [Paradigm]. Look, the ‘M’ in Manny stands for ‘Mercenary.’ He wants to make the biggest score — he’s probably searching now for events that can bring him 9-figure paydays. What else is out there that is considered relatively safe, that could procure that type of payday. From a theoretical standpoint, it could be Conor McGregor.”
Adding to the speculation is Pacquiao signing with Paradigm Sports Management back in February, who also represents McGregor.
