The Colorado Buffaloes suffered a devastating loss against the Stanford Cardinal on Friday night, Saturday morning for some, having gone ahead by 29 before complacency took over.
The Buffs, tipped to go 5-2 and move to within one game of bowl eligibility on the night, ended up on the wrong end of a shocking collapse that had head coach Deion Sanders scratching his head and calling out his team.
The Hall of Famer had impressed a need to get off to a solid start upon his players, having watched them wake up after the half for most of their games this season. But, on a night during which they jumped out of the blocks, they absolutely stank in the second half and were outscored 19-0 in the third quarter as the Cardinal put up 26 straight points before they were able to get on the score sheet again.
Stanford would score a field goal to tie things up at the death and send the game into overtime, scoring another field goal to win it 46-43 at the end of double overtime after Shedeur Sanders threw an interception.
After the game, ESPN’s cameras showed a male fan crying his eyes out while being consoled by a female.

It’s not like the Buffs aren’t 4-3, which is still great, all things considered. We have a strong suspicion this had something to do with a bet.
