The Colorado Buffaloes are getting even more dangerous.
Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers great Warren Sapp is joining Deion Sanders coaching staff at the University of Colorado, but not this year.
During an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, Sapp discussed his desire to join Sanders’ staff and help shape the next generation of defensive linemen. “I want to be there next year,” he said.
“When you have a quarterback like Shedeur [Sanders], and if my d-line will go hunt the other quarterback? Our chances of winning just went through the roof,” he added.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend has already been on Colorado’s campus this year and he told Eisen that the defensive linemen were anxious to learn from him during his experience.

In college, Warren Sapp was one of the greatest players ever to suit up for the Miami Hurricanes. He won the national title with Miami in 1991 and racked up several awards including the Lombardi Award, and the Nagurski Trophy, and was named a unanimous All-American. In the 1994 season, Sapp finished with 84 tackles and racked up 10.5 sacks for the ‘Canes.
Sapp was a Super Bowl champion, Defensive Player of the Year, four-time First Team All-Pro selection, and seven-time Pro Bowler during his illustrious career. He would be an excellent hire.
It’s unclear what Sapp’s role with the team would be, but it sounds like he’d be willing to take any role for his good friend Deion.
