The Colorado Buffaloes have lost another player to the transfer portal, with Dylan Edwards leaving Boulder ahead of the 2024 NCAA football season.
Edwards had a memorable debut for the Buffs last season, scoring four touchdowns during the team’s upset of TCU last fall. But he only found the end zone once more after that. He led the team in rushing with 321 yards on 76 carries, registering 4.2 yards per carry, also making 36 receptions for another 299 yards.
The running back was expected to be a key piece of CU’s offense in Deion Sanders’ second season as head coach but has chosen to leave the program, having entered the portal on Tuesday, according to 247Sports.
Kansas State is reported to be a potential transfer destination, given that Edwards is from Kansas and his dad, Leon Edwards, represented the Wildcats.
Edwards is the 21st Colorado player to enter the portal since it opened to non-graduates a week ago.

The Colorado Buffaloes Made A Significant Pickup At Running Back On Monday
While the team is losing their best RB from last season, they’ve welcomed another potential star at the position, with Dallan Hayden committing on Monday.
Hayden recorded 663 rushing yards and six scores in two seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes, having made 130 rushing attempts on an average of 5.1 yards per carry.
The team is also recruiting Rashad Amos, a Miami transfer. The RB rushed for 1,075 yards and 13 touchdowns last season and has committed to Mississippi State; however, he will be visiting Boulder this weekend.
True freshman Micah Welch is the only remaining scholarship running back at Colorado, while walk-on Charlie Offerdahl has gotten reps with the first-team offense.
