The Colorado Buffaloes may have found their replacement at quarterback for Shedeur Sanders when he heads off to the NFL.
Head coach Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes appear close to landing their potential future starting quarterback.
247Sports national college football recruiting analyst Tom Loy made a crystal ball prediction for class of 2025 QB Julian Lewis, who is reporting that he could flip his commitment from the USC Trojans to the Colorado Buffaloes.
“As Signing Day approaches, Colorado remains a major player for USC quarterback commit Julian Lewis. Don’t be surprised if the Crystal Ball starts moving in favor of the Buffaloes down the stretch,” Loy wrote on X.
“All signs point towards Colorado and obviously the committed school, USC. I think my best guess, and I said this when I first started in this role, and it was me, me, Andrew Ivins, and Emily Proud on the desk, I said, I’m going to call my shot and make it very clear that I do not expect Julian Lewis to end up at USC. Honestly, at this point, I still feel that way. For a while it was Auburn, then it became Indiana, now all signs point toward Colorado as the school that is most likely the team to beat, that’s likely gonna flip him. I feel like I could actually toss in a prediction for Colorado at this point. I’m not ready yet, but man, I’m really close.”
According to the 247Sports composite, Lewis is the No. 5 quarterback in his recruiting class.

Colorado Buffaloes Not Expected To Fall Off With Departure of Shedeur Sanders
Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders is widely expected to be one of the very first quarterbacks off the board when the 2025 NFL draft rolls around in April.
Through eight games this season, Sanders has thrown for 2,591 yards, 21 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Many expect that the program may falter without him, but that is not the case.
A new report states the program will be flipping quarterback Julian Lewis from USC to them in due time.
