When you come at the king — in this case, Colorado Buffaloes football coach Deion Sanders — you best not miss.
Love or hate Deion Sanders, the man has been one of the best trash talkers in the world of sports since he first stepped foot onto the NFL back in 1989. If you’re going to call out “Prime Time”, you better be ready to ready for an even better comeback.
A fan learned this the hard way after taking a shot at Deion’s son, Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, on X/Twitter. Here’s how the Pro Football Hall of Famer responded:
Sanders received criticism from fans for this tweet, but he has a point on the first part. Shedeur is widely projected to be one of the first selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, with ESPN’s Mat Miller even ranking him as a top-three QB in the class alongside Georgia’s Carson Beck and Texas’ Quinn Ewers.

Shedeur Sanders had an excellent first year with the Buffaloes despite taking more sacks than any other QB in college during the 2023 season. He completed 69.3 percent of pass attempts for 3,230 yards, 27 touchdowns, three interceptions and four rushing touchdowns.
Deion Sanders Will Never Change Who He Is
Sanders has always been unapologetically outspoken and full of confidence. He has always backed it up on the field as a football player, with two Super Bowl championship rings, eight Pro Bowl nods, 60 career interceptions, and a gold jacket.
Even after his playing career, Sanders has remained entertaining as a personality with his trash talk and energy. Though the results have yet to come as Colorado’s head coach, you just know that he won’t change his way.
No matter how you feel about Sanders, the fact is he’s one of the most interesting and entertaining personalities in the football world. And as this fan learned today, it’s not a good idea to call out Prime Time’s son in a social media setting.
