Colorado Buffaloes football head coach Deion Sanders has addressed his controversial X/Twitter activity that made headlines last week.
For starters, Deion Sanders received criticism after responding to a fan who dissed his son, Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
Deion also made fun of Austin Peay cornerback Jaheim Ward by posting a screenshot of the latter’s stats from 2023. That prompted Ward to respond by informing “Prime Time” that he had more pass breakups than Deion’s son, Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders.
In an interview on “Thee Pregame Show”, Sanders stated that he engaged in the social media activity simply because he “was bored.” However, the Pro Football Hall of Famer also acknowledged that he shouldn’t be doing that going forward.
“I gotta do better on that and not ride with it, but I was bored. I was bored, and I didn’t say nothing hurtful. I don’t attack people.”

Whether fans like it or not, Sanders has always enjoyed engaging in heavy trash talk. That dates back to the start of his illustrious NFL career that started with the Atlanta Falcons in 1989, and he hasn’t changed much 35 years later.
Unlike most other trash-talkers in football, Sanders always backed it up. He’s by far the greatest cornerback of all time with eight Pro Bowl and six First-team All-Pro nods under his belt, to go along with those two Super Bowl rings, 1994 Defensive Player of the Year honors and 63 interceptions.
Deion Sanders & Buffaloes Look To Build Off Roller-Coaster Year
The Buffaloes were the biggest story early in the 2023 NCAA football season, jumping out to a 3-0 start that included a stunning season-opening victory against the TCU Horned Frogs.
But the Buffaloes would drop eight of their final nine games, with five of those losses coming against ranked teams. Sanders and company have recruited plenty of more notable talents to strengthen the roster across the board, not to mention that a healthy Travis Hunter will make a significant difference.
Colorado will open their 2024 season against the North Dakota State Bisons at home on Aug. 29.
