Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has hired another Pro Football Hall of Famer and Super Bowl champion to join his coaching staff in Boulder.
Late Thursday evening, while many of you were sleeping, the Buffaloes announced on X/Twitter that they have hired Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk to serve as their new running backs coach.
Faulk is the latest NFL great to join Deion Sanders’ staff. Last year, “Coach Prime” hired Tampa Bay Buccaneers icon and Hall of Fame defensive tackle Warren Sapp to work as a senior quality control analyst.
One of the greatest to ever play the game.

Marshall Faulk is one of the greatest running backs ever, earning seven Pro Bowl nods, three straight Offensive Player of the Year awards (1999 to 2001) and 2000 MVP honors. Faulk was a key part of the St. Louis Rams “Greatest Show on Turf” offense that won Super Bowl 34.
Faulk retired after the 2005 season and sits 12th all-time in career rushing yards (12,279) and is tied with Shaun Alexander for ninth in rushing scores (100). This is Faulk’s first football coaching position of any kind.
Sanders wrapped up the second season of a multi-year deal at Colorado. Prior to his move to Boulder, Sanders coached three seasons at Jackson State.

Deion Sanders & Marshall Faulk Were Among Football’s Elite Superstars In The ’90s
Faulk and Deion Sanders never played together during their Hall of Fame careers, but they squared off on numerous occasions. During Faulk’s first two NFL campaigns, Sanders won Super Bowl rings with the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys in the 1994 and 1995 seasons.
