A Colorado football player wants an opportunity to play so he is deciding to take his talents elsewhere.
Eoghan Kerry, a linebacker in his second season with the Buffaloes, revealed his decision on Tuesday night on social media. His post thanked his coaches, teammates, and fans in a post announcing the transfer.
“I have had a time unlike any other the last year at CU,” Kerry said. “Wearing the black and gold, running out behind Ralphie, walking down Pearl Street during the stampede, singing Rocky Mountain High after the games. It’s been unforgettable.”
Kerry, along with tight end Erik Olsen, was a player from the previous regime who elected to stay at Colorado when first-year head coach Deion Sanders was hired during the off-season.
Kerry joined Colorado as a three-star recruit and has recorded four tackles in 11 games played but hasn’t taken the field for Deion Sanders this season.
He stuck with the Buffaloes through spring practice but ultimately decided it was not in his best interest to continue to play for the program going forward.
