Former five-star recruit and cornerback Travis Hunter is accusing the Florida State Seminoles of a serious violation of NCAA rules.
Hunter was previously committed to the Florida State Seminoles, but he flipped his commitment and joined the Jackson State Tigers, who were previously coached by Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.
The Colorado Buffaloes hired Sanders as their head coach earlier this month, and Hunter subsequently announced that he’d be following “Prime Time” to Boulder. Sanders coached the Tigers from 2020 to 2022, leading them to consecutive SWAC Championships in each of the last two seasons.
Responding to a fan on Twitter, Hunter alleged that the Seminoles broke a key role by calling him before he even entered the transfer portal.
Tampering is a serious violation in any major sporting league, including the NCAA. If officials decide to look into Hunter’s allegations against the Seminoles, it’ll be a top storyline to follow through 2023.
We’ll be sure to provide more details on this story if they become available.
