This Saturday was a big one for college football fans as there was actually college football to pay attention to.
Of course, the day was also marked by the iconic pregame show, College GameDay, returning to ESPN. The program, which gets fans ready for the biggest games of the day with analysis, insight, and predictions, had its hosts discuss a burning issue: conference realignment.
It appears the panel does not agree with the moves as they said it’s negative for football and ruins tradition. There was a whole segment on it.
While fans agree with the notion, they also pointed out that networks such as ESPN and FOX are responsible for realignment given that they get schools to do it in order to get more revenue for broadcasting rights.
“The irony of ESPN College Gameday discussing College Realignment like they as a company (ESPN) aren’t a major reason why it’s happening can’t go understated,” an X user wrote.

College GameDay airing such a segment is understandable. The hosts aren’t the ones making the decisions that affect who plays where and have nothing to do with TV rights deals,
Still, fans are absolutely correct in pointing out that ESPN is among the networks that are really making things worse.
