The college football world is reeling this week after tragic news was passed down that a Texas A&M star wide receiver had his young life come to an end.
Texas A&M University-Commerce wide receiver Keith Miller was found dead near campus on Thursday, according to a school press release, via Lionsathletics.com. He was only 23 years old.
A cause of death has not been revealed for the Texas A&M University star player.
“We are heartbroken by Keith’s unexpected passing,” said Texas A&M University-Commerce Lions coach Clint Dolezel.
Miller is described as a father in a statement from Lions coach Clint Dolezel and was reportedly in a relationship with a woman named Caila Jae, who shared her grief on Instagram over the death of the Texas A&M WR.
“Keith was a beloved father, son, teammate, and student-athlete. We extend our deepest sympathies and sincere condolences to his family, friends, teammates, and all who loved him at this very difficult time.”

“Miller passed away tragically in his apartment near campus on Thursday evening. The entire Lion community sends its deepest sympathy to Keith’s family, friends, and teammates,” said a Texas A&M University-Commerce statement.
Playing the wide receiver position, Miller was a two-year Texas A&M University-Commerce Lion football program member and served as a team captain during the 2023 season.
Before playing with the Lions, he was a football team member at the University of Colorado for two seasons.
The Colorado Buffaloes also spoke out following his death, saying, “We are deeply saddened by the passing of former Buff, Keith Miller.” “Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and teammates.”
The star wideout was also remembered by Southern California receiver Brenden Rice, the son of Hall of Famer Jerry and an ex-teammate of Miller’s at Colorado. Miller and Rice began their college careers in Colorado before they separated and transferred to Texas A&M Commerce and USC, respectively.

Keith Miller died Thursday evening in his off-campus apartment.
The 6-foot-3 three-star recruit coming out of high school enjoyed a breakout year in 2023 as he had 222 receptions for 274 yards and four touchdowns.
Unfortunately, His career ended with him totaling 39 catches, 457 receiving yards, and four touchdowns in his college career.
