College football is expected to add three rules that have been part of the NFL as of the 2024 season.
The Athletic reported a few weeks ago that the NCAA was considering the adaptation of two-minute warnings at the end of games.
The governing body’s Rules Committee is scheduled to vote on the rule in the coming weeks. And, according to Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, that’s not the only change that could be introduced to the college game, with helmet-to-helmet communication and the use of tablets on the sideline also likely to be implemented.
Dellenger has referred to possible introduction as the “most significant technological change in recent college sports history.”
“Electronic tablets would be able to be used on the sideline and in the halftime locker room to review in-game video replays,” he also noted.
Some college football fans are all for these changes while others harbor a more purist view. In any case, all three of these rules are likely to be a part of the NCAA game in 2024.
