The Ohio State Buckeyes famously spent $20 million to assemble the roster that won the 2025 College Football Playoff Championship; now, one program is trying to take Buckeyes star Jeremiah Smith away from them.
Per Pete Nakos of On3.com, Smith has received an offer in excess of $4.5 million to enter the transfer portal after just one season on the field.

Smith didn’t disappoint in his freshman campaign, as he came in with tons of hype.
When all was said and done, Smith ended up catching 76 passes for 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns.
It’s clear why another program would love to have Jeremiah Smith on their team.
The potential Heisman Trophy candidate and a possible No. 1 overall pick in the future will have to fight off programs with a stick as more and more money will continue to come his way.

Smith addressed the notion that he might leave Ohio State as he quote tweeted Jay Wimbrow, who is associated with Jeremiah Smith’s former 7-on-7 team.
Jeremiah Smith simply wrote a “100” emoji to the statement, “Ain’t gonna happen, that family is too loyal😂😂 good try tho🤫.”
