A certain college football coach was not in the mood to be handled by a state trooper during one of this week’s bowl games.
Both the trophy and the mascot for the Pop-Tarts Bowl were hyped ahead of the game, and deservedly so. But the showdown between Kansas State and NC State presented something a bit more entertaining at halftime as the latter’s head coach had a mini altercation with a trooper.
Dave Doeren was walking off the field when the officer touched him in what appeared to be a motion suggesting the direction he should take to the locker room. Doeren did not seem at all happy and roughly took his arm away while offering a very rude look.
NC State was going into the half with a deficit, so their head coach, perhaps understandably, wasn’t thrilled after being touched by the trooper.
“Not the most likable guy (especially when trailing), but this is so Dave Doeren it hurts,” reporter Brad Crawford wrote as he shared a video of the incident.

Can’t blame the guy given the scoreline at the time.
NC State got right back in the game after the half via a fake punt that resulted in a touchdown, cutting Kansas State’s lead to 21-19. But they still ended up losing as they failed to get on the scoreboard after that, with the final score 28-19.
