Bryce Carpenter was arrested on Sunday in South Carolina on some disturbing charges.
The Coastal Carolina backup quarterback was accused of slamming a woman to the ground when she refused his sexual advances, according to police. He was charged with third-degree assault and battery. He was released on a $2,500 bond, according to online records.
While at the party, the victim was in the garage with the 23-year-old when he started making sexual advances toward her, the report stated. When she moved away from him, he reportedly continued to follow her and tried kissing her and grabbing her “butt.”
Others who were around saw this going on and pulled Carpenter away from the victim.
Later on, Carpenter was said to be sitting on the sidewalk when the victim went up to him to talk about what he was doing and said “she thought they were cool.” That turned out to be a bad idea as Carpenter got up and tried to advance the victim again and she pushed him away. Police said he then grabbed her, picked her up, threw her onto the concrete sidewalk and fell on top of her.
The victim suffered minor scratches to her back, the back of her arms and a hematoma on the back of her head from hitting the concrete sidewalk. She had no clue if lost consciousness or not.
