Coastal Carolina has been steam rolling over opposing defenses as they currently sit at 9-2 on the year.
On Saturday, the team headed into their game against Texas State ranking fifth in scoring and eighth in yards per game. They showed every bit of that with their 35-21 win over Texas State.
After feasting on their opponent, several players on the team feasted on some pizza as they had Joey Chestnut in attendance ready to challenge them.
The nine-time Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July Hot Dog Eating Contest champion battled Coastal Carolina punter Charles Ouverson, offensive lineman Trey Carter and linebacker Silas Kelly in a pizza-eating contest after the game.
Chestnut never them a chance as he stuffed two slices of pizza into his mouth at a time while the Chanticleers football players struggled to eat the slices one-by-one.
The loss after the game has no bearing on what they have been doing on the field as they are now 9-2 and bowl eligible for the second time in as many years.
