The 2019 College football season is a little over a month away and Trevor Lawrence is already making his fan base proud.
During ACC Media Days, Clemson offensive guard John Simpson made a comment about how Notre Dame was tougher than Alabama. It was a comment that drew the ire of ESPN analyst Paul Finebaum, so he fired right back at college player.
“I’m not in the business of criticizing college players,” Finebaum said, “but that is easily one of the stupidest comments I have ever heard. Alabama was a phenomenal football team last year. Notre Dame was good, but they were not as good as Alabama. Alabama would’ve destroyed Notre Dame, and what you get there in John Simpson’s comments is just the pettiness of a program that is unaccustomed to being at the epicenter of this sport.”
Finebaum even went as far to say that by saying “Clemson just doesn’t know how to win yet.”
Well, Lawrence saw those comments and harsh remarks being made about his program so he decided to take his thoughts to Twitter.
“Unprofessional,” Lawrence stated in a since-deleted tweet.
Openly stating that Clemson doesn’t know how to win is just a terrible hill to die on, considering Dabo Swinney has taken the Tigers to the College Football Playoff four straight seasons, not to mention that they just won the National Title over Bama earlier this year.
