Saturday’s SEC Championship game featuring the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs will be the last ‘The SEC on CBS’ affair as rights to conference fixtures are set to move to ESPN following a 10-year deal finalized at the end of 2020.
The deal will see ABC and ESPN boast exclusive broadcast rights to SEC football and basketball games from 2024.
CBS has been airing the conference’s biggest weekly game since 1996, but the highly-anticipated title game will be the last, at least for the next 10 seasons. The network is giving the SEC the best sendoff it can, marking the game with a goosebump-inducing intro which can be seen below:
As for the game itself, it’s been pretty entertaining, with the Crimson Tide leading 17-7 at halftime.
