The Georgia Bulldogs outscored the Alabama Crimson Tide 20-9 in the fourth quarter, en route to a 33-18 victory to claim their first National Championship since 1980. It was an impressive way to close out the game, and all Alabama head coach Nick Saban could do was give credit where credit is due.
After the game, during the postgame handshakes, Saban was heard telling Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, “You guys kicked out ass in the 4th quarter.”
The two continued to exchange pleasantries at midfield, and Smart even appeared to ask about the health of Bama wide receiver Jameson Williams, to which Saban responded, “They think he might have an ACL.”
It’s great to see these two head coaches getting along so well after a hard fought game for all the marbles. It just goes to show the level of respect that these two champions have for one another.
