Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders are headed to the NFL, that much is known. As to who gets picked first is still up for debate and will remain an unknown until draft night this coming April.
Both quarterbacks had stellar seasons in 2024 and are likely to be among the first five players called when teams go through the process of making their selections for the year, with Sanders’ Colorado teammate Travis Hunter expected to go ahead of both of them.
Cameras caught the QBs having a lighthearted conversation during a workout in which they both claimed to be generational talents. Shedeur insisted he was the generational one before Ward shot him down, saying, “I like that you think that, but we all know the truth.”
The Colorado star asked, “What, Trav gonna be first?”
“If they know what’s best,” Ward suggested.

Shedeur Sanders Is Unlikely To Be Wrong About Travis Hunter
Travis Hunter has been tipped to be the first overall pick on draft night a few months from now, following a sensational season for the Buffaloes. While Colorado suffered a defeat to BYU in the Alamo Bowl, the cornerback enjoyed success on a personal front as he won the Heisman Trophy.
The Tennessee Titans currently own the first pick in the 2025 draft, but whether they keep it or trade it remains to be seen. The AFC South outfit would make things very interesting if they were to go for a quarterback.
Meanwhile, Shedeur Sanders has hinted multiple times that he would prefer to join the Las Vegas Raiders, who currently have the sixth pick.
