It looks like we have seen the last of Caleb Williams at the college football level.
While the USC star quarterback hasn’t officially declared for the NFL draft just yet, he did announce today that he will not be under center for the Trojans when they take on Louisville in the Holiday Bowl later this month.
The decision is likely just the next step towards Williams’ move to the NFL, has most are projecting him to be the top pick taken off the board in 2024.
With Williams out, USC will now turn to either redshirt sophomore Miller Moss, or freshman Malachi Nelson.
Williams finishes the 2023 season with 3,633 passing yards, 30 touchdowns and 5 interceptions for the 7-5 Trojans. Impressive numbers, but not quite as impressive as his 4,537 yards and 42 touchdowns that helped him earn Heisman Trophy honors in 2022.
