October was a rough month for Caleb Williams, and November doesn’t look like it’s getting any friendlier for the reigning Heisman Trophy winner.
The USC star quarterback suffered his latest crushing defeat last night when the Trojans fell to no. 5 ranked Washington at home, 52-42. It marked USC’s third loss in their last four games, and pretty ended any hope they had of making the Pac-12 championship game (and perhaps the College Football Playoff as well).
It’s been a tough week for Williams on an individual level as well, as some have been suggesting that he is not long the top NFL prospect for the upcoming 2024 draft.
All of the outside noise, coupled with Saturday’s tough loss, seemed to finally be too much for the star quarterback, as he could no longer contain his emotions on the sideline and was spotted bawling his eyes out with his family after the final whistle of last night’s game.
There will be plenty of brighter days ahead for Caleb Williams, in what still promises to be a very bright future in football. However, you’ve still got to feel for the young man. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that he’s still only a 21-year-old college student.
