Iowa Hawkeyes football is riding high right now with being ranked 25th in the country and currently having a 2-0 record.
Cade McNamara is a huge reason for that as he is gearing up for Iowa’s Week 3 game against Western Michigan. He addressed the media Tuesday to discuss the matchup, and the quarterback shed light on what he expects to see from the defense in that matchup.
In doing so, he had an odd slip-up during his comments that made himself as well as some media members burst into laughter.
“Our level of communication up front, with me, the backs. Everything just being on the same page because we know these guys are going to come — a lot,” said McNamara before busting into laughter. “I’d appreciate it if none of you posted a video of that.”
“We have to be on key with our hots, we have to be on key with our protection,” McNamara continued before losing it again. “Damn it. I was not expecting that.”
Iowa is set to match up against the Western Michigan Broncos this Saturday, and Cade will be trying to lead his Top 25 team to a perfect 3-0 start.
The 23-year-old quarterback is not having a bad start to the 2023 season as he played well versus Utah State and Iowa State. Over the course of the first two games, the Michigan transfer has completed 29-of-52 passes for 314 yards for two touchdowns and just one interception.
