Bronny James has been discharged and is home resting following a serious health scare.
The son of NBA star LeBron James, the 18-year-old is recovering well after falling victim to cardiac arrest during practice with USC on Monday. He was said to have been out of ICU and stable by the time the reports came out the following day and has since been allowed to go home.
The Athletic’s Shams Charania has tweeted a statement from cardiologist Merije Chukumerije which notes that Bronny was conscious when he arrived at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was neurologically intact.
Chukumerije also praised the actions of USC’s medical staff.
“Thanks to the swift and effective response by the USC athletics’ medical staff, Bronny James was successfully treated for a sudden cardiac arrest. He arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact, and stable. Mr. James was cared for promptly by highly-trained staff and has been discharged home, where he is resting,” the statement reads.
