Well, this was completely unexpected.
On Wednesday, the New England Patriots placed star wide receiver Josh Gordon on Injured reserve, effectively ending his 2019 season.
This news comes shortly after the Patriots agreed to the trade with the Falcons WR Mohamed Sanu.
New England re-signed Gordon to a one-year, restricted deal this offseason that will cost them $2.025 million for the 2019 season.
The 28-year-old appeared in six games for the Patriots and caught 20 passes for 287 yards receiving and one touchdown.
