The Scott Frost era is finally over in Nebraska.
The Cornhuskers lost 45-42 to Georgia Southern on Saturday night, as the Eagles became the third Sun Belt team to beat a Power Five opponent in Week 2.
The embarrassing loss was the last straw for the Nebraska higher-ups, as they announced that they will be firing Frost.
Nebraska allowed 642 yards of offense to Georgia Southern as the Eagles rushed for five touchdowns and averaged nearly eight yards a carry. The loss moved the Cornhuskers to 1-2 on the season, as they lost their opener to Northwestern before beating North Dakota last weekend.
Nebraska plays Oklahoma in Week 3 before games against Indiana and Rutgers. Assistant Coach Mickey Joseph has been announced as the interim coach. He previously served as an assistant at LSU.

As for Frost, he spent five seasons in Nebraska, going 16-31 during his time there. That’s not the type of record that will keep you employed at a big-time football program for long.
