Yoenis Cespedes gave everybody a scare when the New York Mets could not locate his whereabouts.
He was supposed to show up for the game against the Atlanta Braves, but nobody could find him or reach him.
“He did not reach out to management with any explanation for his absence,” general manager Brodie Van Wagenen said in a statement. “Our attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful.”
Hours later, it turns out that he was not only fine, but he was opting out of the rest of the 2020 MLB season, per Jon Heyman.

Cespedes, playing for the first time in two years after a series of injuries, has struggled so far, batting .161 with two home runs, four RBIs and 15 strikeouts in 31 at-bats.
