One of the nation’s top college running backs is already drawing comparisons to some of the NFL’s top RBs following a viral video.
Wisconsin Badgers’ running back Braelon Allen is eyeing a third straight season of 1,000 yards rushing here in 2023. Judging by this viral video of him squatting more than 600 pounds, it definitely looks like Allen is ready for his best collegiate season yet.
Judging by his power, strength and fitness, it’s probably not too early to start comparing Allen to some of the NFL’s top running backs. Most players at the position aren’t supposed to do what Allen is already doing in the gym, after all.
Henry is listed at 6-foot-3 and 247 pounds, while Allen is listed at 6-foot-2 and 240 pounds. Of course, Allen has plenty of time to add even more muscle to his ginormous frame between now and the Badgers’ season opener.
In 2021, Allen finished with 1,268 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. Last year, Allen had 1,242 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns to go along with 13 receptions for 104 yards.
Allen is one of the most highly-touted running back prospects for next year’s NFL Draft. Another season similar to what we saw in 2021 and 2022 just might cement his case as a round one or two pick.
