There are rumblings that Bob Stoops could become the next head coach of Florida State football, which comes days after the team parted ways with former head coach Willie Taggart.
According to ABC Tallahassee:
“Bob Stoops could become the next head coach of Florida State football in the near future, according to sources.
Sources say that Kendall Briles will remain as offensive coordinator and Jim Leavitt as defensive coordinator.
We’ve heard the announcement could come as early as the end of this week.
With keeping Briles on as offensive coordinator, it could turn into a head coach in waiting role. Stoops is 59, would want to groom a successor before he retires.”
Stoops coached at Oklahoma from 1999 to 2016, winning a National Championship in 2000.
It was just announced in February 2019 that Stoops would be the head coach and general manager of the Dallas Renegades in the XFL.
