Steve Belichick has reportedly landed another big coaching gig.
The younger Belichick is currently a defensive coordinator with the Washington Huskies and has done a great job with the program, having left the New England Patriots after his father, Bill Belichick, was let go earlier this year.
According to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports and 247 Sports, Steve will join Bill at UNC after Washington’s bowl game.
“Steve Belichick is set to join his dad’s staff as North Carolina’s defensive coordinator after Washington’s bowl game, sources tell @CBSSports/@247Sports,” Zenitz reported on Sunday.
“As Washington’s DC this season, he’s improved the Huskies from 99th nationally in total defense last year to 26th this year.”

Steve Belichick To Be Groomed As Future Head Coach?
It was rumored that Bill Belichick asked for his son to join while negotiating with the Tar Heels and would like to position him as the future head coach as he’s keen on seeing him take over whenever he leaves.
The move to UNC would see the father and son reunite after working together in New England. It also marks a significant acquisition for UNC as the Belichick name is a massive one in the football world, and the program is now set to have two.
