Absolute chaos erupted after Monday night’s game between Jackson State and Prairie View A&M. As players were going through the handshake line following the game, words were exchanged between players and a skirmish broke out between the teams.
The incident was a carryover from a hard foul in the final minute which resulted in Jackson State’s Jayveous McKinnis being assessed a technical foul.
“There’s a skirmish happening right now,” the announcer said on the ESPN broadcast. “Khalil Spencer going after someone on Prairie View just after the game ended. It started on the far baseline as now the assistant coaches try to corral their players, still some pushing and shoving going on. It did get chippy late in this ballgame.”
