Bill Walton always talks about way more than whatever college game he is calling. It is what makes him who he is and why people love him.
Walton started talking about Russia during a game on Thursday night, and ESPN appeared to immediately cut his mic off.
“If the Russians invade us tomorrow,” Walton stated before his mic turned to silence.
As you are already well aware of, Russia is knee deep inot invading Ukraine after declaring war on them.
The Worldwide Leader in Sports knows it is a sensitive topic and were likely frightened by what may come out of Walton’s mouth. We don’t know for sure, but ESPN higher ups likely had a nice talk with him about not diving into the topic.
